Stress and Suffering

Who does not suffer, does not live at all are the common words you hear often. Are these words true? Are these words an awkward reflection of the modern state of the world or is that sentence a significant fundamental truth that we have to bare with living in life.

It’s highly probably that no one likes to feel pain. After all, isn’t pain made for the specific reason of us disliking it? Isn’t that why we hurt when we fall? Isn’t that when our gums bleed, when our knee caps fail to entertain us on a morning run or when the excessive use of liquor falls down our throat like a shard of glass or a terrible terrible excessive euphoria resulting from the alleviation of all sorts of stress. I don’t know.

All I can say is that ones character can only be tested in regards to how one faces the difficulties one needs to face. Its highly possible that a test of ones character lies in how one faces the difficulties in life. But who wants the difficulties? After all don’t we want to run, don’t we want to hide to sail away like ships from an oncoming storm, like gulls we fly into the places of comfort, away from all the discomfort faced in our daily lives. Confusion is the ultimate pattern of our lives today. Confusion drives us, and it shall be our last companion.
